Our Story

Thank you for visiting The Empty Bobbin’s Online Quilt and Fabric Store! I’m excited to share a little about me and my new shop...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for creating beautiful things and making special handmade gifts for those I treasure. I’ve sewed, cross stitched, and scrapbooked, but quilting has always been my favorite. It always excites me to sort through a stash of fabric mixing and matching pieces that go together to make a stunning quilt. There is nothing more full-filling than seeing my quilt come together better than I imagined it would.

Not only am I a small business owner, but I’m also a farm wife and a mother of four children. My children are the inspiration for many of my quilts. It warms my heart to see them wrapped up all cozy in something I made just for them.

Many have asked the inspiration for my business name. It came to me one day when I was frustrated my bobbin was empty yet again at the most inopportune time. I had to remind myself, empty bobbins are a sign that much is getting accomplished in front of the sewing machine.

I thoroughly enjoy sharing in my customers’ inspiration to create and strive to offer a vast selection of high quality fabrics and notions for all your quilting and sewing needs.
